A dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) is an abnormal connection between arteries and veins within the brain’s protective covering (the dura). These lesions can cause headaches, ringing in the ears, or bleeding depending on their location.
Diagnosis typically requires angiography, and treatment often involves endovascular embolization to close the abnormal vessel connection.
