Atlantic Brain and Spine (ABS), a leader in advanced neurosurgical and spine care, is proud to welcome orthopedic spine surgeon Farah Musharbash, MD, to its team. A fellowship-trained surgeon from the nation’s #1 ranked orthopedic hospital, Dr. Musharbash brings exceptional expertise, groundbreaking research, and a patient-centered philosophy that will expand and enhance ABS’s comprehensive spine program.

Dr. Musharbash completed a combined Orthopedic and Neurosurgery Spine Fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Weill Cornell Medicine — training that is among the most rigorous and well-rounded available anywhere in the world. Prior to fellowship, he trained in orthopedic surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and earned his medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

His clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of spine surgery, with particular focus on ultra-minimally invasive endoscopic techniques, motion-preserving procedures such as disc replacement, complex scoliosis and deformity correction, and robotic navigation. Beyond the operating room, Dr. Musharbash is a prolific researcher, authoring more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, including novel techniques in endoscopic spine surgery. He is an active member of the North American Spine Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and serves as a reviewer for several leading journals.

“Dr. Musharbash represents exactly the type of physician we seek to bring to ABS,” said Samantha Kelly, CEO of Atlantic Brain and Spine. “His training is second to none, his research contributions are advancing the field, and his patient-first approach aligns perfectly with our mission of delivering innovative, compassionate care.”

At ABS, Dr. Musharbash will collaborate with the neurosurgical team to ensure patients benefit from a truly multidisciplinary spine program, blending orthopedic and neurosurgical expertise for the most precise, tailored solutions. “Every ABS surgeon is committed to using the latest techniques for faster recovery and lasting results,” said Yaron Moshel, MD, PhD, neurosurgical brain tumor specialist and Medical Director of Neurosurgery at Atlantic Health System. “Dr. Musharbash further expands our capabilities, giving patients more options and more confidence in their care.”

Dr. Musharbash will see patients across Atlantic Brain and Spine locations throughout New Jersey. “I believe in starting with non-operative care whenever possible, and I’m honored to join a team that shares the same philosophy,” said Musharbash. “Together, we can provide patients with the most advanced surgical options and get them back to the lives they love.”

With his arrival, ABS strengthens its commitment to providing the full spectrum of spine care, from conservative therapies to the most advanced surgical innovations, ensuring patients throughout New Jersey have access to world-class treatment close to home.
