After decades of dedicated service, Dr. Brian Beyerl has retired from Atlantic Brain and Spine.

Dr. Beyerl has played a meaningful role in advancing neurosurgical care in New Jersey, particularly in the treatment of brain tumors. He co-led one of the region’s first stereotactic radiosurgery programs and has cared for countless patients and families throughout his career.

Even in recent years, he remained committed to supporting patients as a trusted advisor—helping guide them through complex diagnoses and treatment decisions.

While Dr. Beyerl will be greatly missed, our team remains here to continue the level of care he helped define.

About Dr. Beyerl’s Career 

Dr. Brian Beyerl is a board-certified neurosurgeon who specialized in the treatment of brain tumors and complex neurological conditions.

Throughout his career, Dr. Beyerl was known for his thoughtful, patient-centered approach and his commitment to delivering precise, individualized care. He was instrumental in developing and advancing stereotactic radiosurgery programs in New Jersey, helping expand access to less invasive treatment options for patients with brain tumors and other neurological conditions.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Beyerl served as a trusted resource for patients navigating complex diagnoses—providing clarity, guidance, and reassurance during difficult moments. 

His work has had a lasting impact on both the patients he treated and the broader neurosurgical community.

Leadership
  • Co-Director, Atlantic Health Stereotactic Radiosurgery Program – Led the first program in New Jersey to treat brain tumors with pinpoint radiation, alongside Dr. Lou Schwartz.
  • Patient and Family Advocate, Glasser Brain Tumor Center – Provides counseling and guidance for brain tumor patients and their families at Overlook Medical Center and Morristown Medical Center.
  • Secretary-Treasurer, International Meningioma Society: Dr. Beyerl served as Secretary-Treasurer of the International Meningioma Society, contributing to advancements in the understanding and treatment of meningiomas.
